Love this time of year - fresh flowers on the table, new linens and longer days to gather with friends and family. We’re always drawn to sourcing local pieces. Our dinner plates are made in Wiltshire, glazed in a soft buttery cream with a sweep of green - echoing the chalk and grasses of the Salisbury Plain. The mugs are by John Julian, each one made by hand in their rural Wiltshire workshop. First Easter holidays in more than 20 years that I’m not working full time. We drove down to Cornwall at midday. I lay on the beach for hours on end, day after day, looking for cowrie shells with my mum. Her first trip away in over a year since she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Each ‘wasted’ minute slowly filled us up and made us feel like our feet were touching the ground again. I took surf lessons with my boys. We drank red wine and watched the sun set over the sea. I can finally see the wood from the trees.
